Information you give me
When you use the project form on this site, you send me:
- Your name and, if you add them, your business name and phone number
- Your email address
- What you need help with, your website address, and your message
Form submissions are emailed to me and saved in my website’s private admin area so an inquiry never gets lost. If you email, call, or text me directly, I receive whatever you choose to share.
The website check tool
When you enter a website address into the “How does your website score?” tool, my server loads that site’s public homepage and checks it. I don’t save the address or the results on my server. The website address you checked, its score, and its grade are recorded in Google Analytics along with other usage statistics (see below). Please only enter public website addresses.
Information collected automatically
Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, from a search or a link), your device and browser type, your approximate location (city or region), and actions on the page such as scrolling, filtering projects, running the website check, tapping the phone number or email link, and sending the form. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. Google handles this data under its own policies — see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Hosting and security. Like most websites, this site’s hosting provider (Hostinger) and network and security provider (Cloudflare) process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, so they can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. To limit spam, the form and the website check keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour.
Fonts. This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers when a page loads.
How I use information
- To reply to you, put together quotes, and work on your project
- To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve them
- To protect the site from spam and abuse
- To meet legal obligations
I don’t sell or rent your personal information, and I don’t use it for third-party advertising. I’ll only email you about your inquiry or project — you won’t be added to a mailing list.
Who I share it with
Only the service providers that help run this site and my business: website hosting (Hostinger), network and security (Cloudflare), email (my business email provider and Google), and analytics (Google). I may also share information if the law requires it or to protect the rights, safety, or security of my business, my clients, or others.
How long I keep it
- Inquiries: as long as needed to respond and keep normal business records. You can ask me to delete yours at any time.
- Analytics data: kept by Google for the retention period set in my Google Analytics settings, then deleted.
- Spam-prevention data: the hashed IP counters are deleted after one hour.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and similar) to tell visits apart. Cloudflare may set a cookie to tell people from automated bots. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site still works without them.
Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete: email [email protected] and I’ll tell you what I have about you, fix it, or delete it.
- Opt out of Google Analytics: use Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact me and I’ll honor any requests that apply to you.
This site doesn’t change how it works based on “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Children
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Links to other websites
This site links to client websites and other sites I don’t run. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and I take reasonable steps to protect the information you send. No website or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
